Lucy Williams brought forth the idea that Prince Chapel should have a local missionary society. Under her leadership, the society was organized and named in her honor. The pastor was Rev. Fred Stevens and the Conference year was 1937-1938. The Society became a great organization for missionary work within the community and connectional church. Lucy Williams attended all conferences and always paid her own expenses. She took part in all annual conferences in the Colorado and Phoenix/Albuquerque District Conference.
The Women's Missionary Society is a structured organization from the local chuch to the connection church of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The organization began in the Church in 1874.
